For their August engagement session, we spent the evening around Grand Rapids, a city that holds so much of their story. Since they live here and have shared so many memories throughout the city, they wanted their photos to feel connected to the places that have actually been part of their relationship.

We started at a small local market before making our way downtown, wandering through familiar streets and stopping along the way wherever felt right. Having a mix of quieter, everyday spots and the movement of downtown gave the session a relaxed, lived-in feeling that felt true to them.

Instead of treating the evening like a photoshoot, we let it feel more like a date - walking around, talking, laughing, and revisiting places that already meant something to them.
