Rochester, New York

Back to the Blog

*Captured on 35mm and digital. This engagement session in Rochester, New York started at the George Eastman Museum, where historic architecture, gardens, and soft light set the tone for a slow, intentional afternoon. The space carries a quiet elegance, and it fit them in a way that felt natural—nothing overly posed, just easy movement through a place with so much history.

We wandered through the grounds, letting the museum’s textures and symmetry guide the moments. Between the greenery, stone details, and warm tones, everything felt timeless and a little nostalgic, like it could’ve belonged to any era.

From there, we headed to a nearby pier as the light started to shift. The pace changed completely—more open, more relaxed. The water, wind, and wide space gave the session a different kind of energy. It felt grounded and real in a way that balanced the more structured start at the museum.

The contrast between the two locations is what made the session feel complete—refined and historic at the George Eastman Museum, then open and quiet at the pier. It all came together in a way that felt honest to them, with film and digital capturing it as it naturally unfolded.
